Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 1, 2026
This policy explains what information Empraxis Systems Inc.(“we,” “us”), operating Made for Mystery, collects when you build, preview, and buy a mystery party kit, how we use it, and the choices you have. Made for Mystery is offered in Canada (excluding Quebec) and the United States. We aim to follow Canada's PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy laws.
Information we collect
Information you give us to build a mystery. To generate your kit you may provide: the display names and gender indicators of your guests, optional notes you write about your guests, and party details such as the date, time, venue or location, and the host's name.
Purchase information. When you buy a kit, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment details and email and shares an order confirmation and your email address with us so we can deliver your kit. We do not store your full payment card details.
Information collected automatically. We use your IP address transiently, in memory, to rate-limit abuse of our generation system; we do not retain it in our database for that purpose. We keep privacy-light usage analytics — which steps were used and when — that are not tied to your identity.
How we use your information
- To generate, deliver, and let you re-download your kit.
- To process your payment and provide customer support.
- To honor our satisfaction guarantee.
- To understand and improve the product, in aggregate.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
How your inputs are processed
To create your kit, your build inputs are processed by our content-generation provider, Anthropic. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use content submitted through its commercial API to train its models. We send only what's needed to generate your kit.
Information about your guests
Some details you enter (guest names, notes) are about other people. By providing them, you confirm you are allowed to. We use this information solely to generate your kit; we do not use it for marketing and we do not sell it.
Service providers
We share information with providers who help us run the service:
- Anthropic (United States) — generation of kit content.
- Stripe (United States) — checkout and payment processing.
- Resend (United States) — delivery of your kit-link and receipt emails.
- Hostinger (servers in the United States) — hosting: running the application and database.
- Cloudflare — DNS and routing of inbound email to our contact addresses.
Some providers may process your information outside Canada (for example, in the United States). Where they do, we require comparable protection for your information.
How long we keep it
- Unpaid drafts are deleted automatically after about 14 days.
- Purchased kits are kept so you can re-download them for 24 months, after which the personal information in them is anonymized.
- Order records are kept as required for tax and accounting purposes.
- Aggregate, non-identifying analytics may be kept indefinitely.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may withdraw consent. Because we don't require an account, email us at privacy@madeformystery.comwith your order number and we'll help. Residents of some provinces may have additional rights under provincial law.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
Email communications
We send transactional emails (your kit link, receipts) because you asked us to by purchasing. We will only send marketing emails with your consent, and every one will identify us and include an easy way to unsubscribe (consistent with Canada's anti-spam law, CASL).
Children
Made for Mystery is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18.
